The ramp settings can greatly reduce the discomfort associated with inhalation of compressed air from this breathing machine.

Then the air pressure is gradually ramped up to the correct level and the user can easily fall asleep without even noticing the increment.

Should I choose APAP, BiPAP or portable machine?

APAP machine(auto-CPAP machine) is mainly used to treat sleep apnea in a fairly comfortable way. It helps the user keep the airway unblocked with minimum amount of air pressure needed during sleep.
BiPAP machine delivers two pressure levels. It can treat more diseases compared to APAP, including more severe sleep apnea, COPD, OHS, etc.
Portable APAP machine is a type of special PAP machine for travel or backup purposes. It’s made smaller and lighter but it is much louder and lacks a real humidifier (no room for those crucial components). Two Therapy Modes (APAP vs CPAP)

iBreeze APAP Machine changes pressure to a patient on a breath by breath basis, far advanced than a traditional CPAP machine that only gives one fixed level of pressure. During therapy session, if the user begins to have a hypopnea or apnea, the APAP is able to auto increase pressure to make the airway unobstructed. Once the blockage is overcome, the air pressure will be reduced back to the lowest possible level for maximum comfort.

Quick Operation Guide

Parameters of APAP Mode

iBreeze APAP machine offers 2 therapy modes, APAP (Auto-CPAP) mode and CPAP mode.
APAP mode is the major therapy mode of iBreeze APAP machine. When APAP mode is used, the device can automatically adjust air pressure value to fit the use’s changing breathing patterns, ensuring an unobstructed airway while maintaining maximum comfort.

P Max: 4-20cmH2O (≥P Min)

The maximum pressure value the machine can deliver during therapy.

P Min: 4-20cmH2O (≤P Max)

The minimum pressure value the machine can deliver during therapy.

R-Care: OFF/ON (recommended to select OFF)

OFF: Pressure value to start the therapy will be the value of P Min.

ON: Pressure value to start the therapy will be the average pressure value of the lower pressure values that take 95% of the time when the unit was used for the last 7 days.

When APAP mode is used, P Max and P Min should be chosen so the therapy pressure levels are limited and will auto change between the highest pressure level (P Max) and the lowest pressure level (P Min).
If the parameter of P Ramp is set, the value to start the therapy will be the value of P Ramp.
When CPAP mode is used, the device can deliver a fixed pressure value to the airway. This is a more traditional way of treating sleep apnea.
In Comfort settings, 19mm hose should be selected if the customer uses the iBreeze tubing that comes with the unit.
